All Tide Rip Tours include:

~coastal exploration in a comfortable, Coast Guard-certified vessel

~small intimate groups (max. 11)

~complimentary beverages of coffee and tea

~onboard binoculars for your use

~relevant reference materials for your perusal

~knowledgeable, qualified Naturalist/Guides

Important notes:

~When booking accommodation, please be aware that nearby island such as Alert Bay limit our accessibility for morning water taxi pick up. An additional fee per person is required for the added service. If staying on other islands, this service may not be available. Please inquire. Please note there are no pick-ups for Alert/Mitchell Bay available after September 15.

~All tours require a minimum 4 persons in total per day in order to operate.


~Due to the unpredictable nature of Knight Inlet and her surrounding waters, we do not take pregnant women nor people with back or neck problems. Although all of our Guides are First Aid trained, we operate in a remote wilderness area without readily available medical attention.

~Please note there is a maximum capacity of eleven (11) persons per boat. Although we do our best to keep parties together, we reserved the right to split groups between boats if/when necessary.

~Minimum age requirement is ten (10) years for the Grizzly Bear TourĀ  (Children's ID required upon checking in)

Important notes:

Please notify us as soon as possible with the details of where you intend to overnight on the evening prior to the departure of your Tide Rip Tours excursion in the event we need to contact you for any unforeseen reason.

As well, IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU PLEASE CALL OR CHECK IN WITH US BEFORE 17:00 PM ON THE DAY BEFORE YOUR TOUR TO CONFIRM YOUR RESERVATION and so that we may provide you with final details, including modified departure times and up-to-date weather information. Policies:

*We do not take pregnant women, people with serious back or neck problems

*We do not take children under ten (10) years of age for the Grizzly Bear Expedition

*You must be reasonably fit to board and disembark off the boats.

*You will be required to sign an Assumption of Risk Agreement.

* Rates are in Canadian funds.

* We have a 4 person minimum to run the tour.

Cancellations & Refunds:

Due to the nature of operating in ocean wilderness areas, tours may be modified or cancelled. Tide Rip Tours (2016) reserves the right to cancel any expedition for adverse weather, mechanical or logistical problems, or unforeseen circumstances which may impede trip operations or safety. Should this occur, a full refund will apply if you cannot reschedule.

Unconfirmed reservations may result in cancellation of your reservation. In the event that you should cancel with more than 30 days notice to us, a full refund less a 3% processing fee will be given. With less than 30 days, full deposit is non-refundable. We recommend the purchase of third party trip cancellation insurance for your protection in the event of illness and such.

Gift Certificates are not redeemable for cash.
